Join us at RISE at the end of July – Tickets on sale

RISE is less than a month away. Excitement is building steadily here as we confirm more and more unbelievable speakers. We’re thrilled to share these three with you today.

Neil Shen – Founding Managing Partner – Sequoia Capital China

Neil is the go-to man at Sequoia Capital China. In his second year on the Midas List, Shen shoots up the rankings in the wake of Alibaba’s massive public offering (IPO 2014) and the not-as-massive-but-huge IPO of JD.com. His best deal so far is Vipshop (IPO 2012) which now has a market capitalisation of more than $15 billion. There was an article written about him just last week around how he could hold the key to the future in China’s buyout frenzy – so our talk with him should be a good one.

Liu Nan – Founder & CEO – MIA

Liu Nan is the founder and CEO of MIA which is the biggest online baby and maternal store in China. MIA or Miyabaobei has completed 3 rounds of financing up to $100 million from H Capital, Sequoia Capital and ZhenFund. One of the reasons for MIA’s success is increased demand by parents for imported baby formula, toys and other products. Before she established the legendary company, she worked for DOW. What’s the secret to her success with this company? Perhaps the increased demand by parents for imported baby formula and toys triggered by a series of food safety scandals in China. Fun fact: the name Miyabaobei translates as “honey bud baby”.

Hugo Burge – Momondo Group

Hugo is a digital investor with hands-on experience of growing Momondo Group from an attic operation of 3 people to an international leader in travel search with a dedicated presence in more than 20 countries and markets – and more than 15 million users a month. For instance, in 2014 Momondo accepted a large (£80 million!) investment from Great Hill Partners. He was actually part of the investor group that bought the formally Cheapflights UK business from founder John Hatt back in 2000. He also founded the internet investment fund HOWZAT Media where investments have included trivago and academia.edu. As you might expect, Hugo’s massively passionate about travel.

You’ll find these on the RISE stages along with the many others confirmed. Stay tuned for the schedule which will be released over the next few weeks. Make sure to grab a ticket if you haven’t got yours yet.
