The 2016 Flagship Killer?

The much-anticipated OnePlus 2 was announced last week.
Over 1 million people have already reserved it.

If you purchased the OnePlus One phone over a year ago, it’s time to listen their “Never Settle” motto and get the new model.

OnePlus CEO Pete Lau chatted with Li Yaun of the Wall Street Journal just now on Centre Stage. They had a launch event yesterday in 9 cities and witnessed a truly amazing reaction from customers.


Media constantly ask what competitive edge the OnePlus Two has. Pete turns the question back on them – “What brand of phone would you buy?” They either say Apple or they pause to think.

This to him signifies great opportunities in the market for a new type of product development.

International Outlook

The OnePlus brand has become a bigger brand in overseas markets than in China. Pete says they have positioned themselves as an international brand right from the start.

They have hired staff from 19 different countries. This helps them to keep an open mind and to explore elements customers all over the world want, rather than just in China.

What does the future look like?

Pete is concentrating on building an open platform to attract the best collaborators. They need these collaborators to build the best customer experience whilst supporting the ecosystem.

When can we expect it?

August 11. It will cost $329 US dollars for 16G and $389 for 64G.

They will continue to use their famous invite system and friend-referral model, but they say they’re way more confident in getting more phones to more people this time. Check out the specs here.
