The search for RISE’s best startup begins: It’s PITCH 2016

May 4, 2016 by Claire Petersen

Will your company be named 2016’s best startup? Apply to PITCH.

Some of the world’s most promising startups will be presenting to our curated panels of investors, media and more. Does your startup have what it takes?

PITCH is RISE’s startup competition. It brings together the world’s leading early-stage startups for a live on-stage battle.

If you have a startup with under $3 million in funding to date and no discernible change in business model in the last three years, you can apply.

We’ll be shortlisting 60 of the most exciting startups exhibiting at RISE to participate in the PITCH group stages on May 31 and June 1.

Our judging panel will then pick 12 of these startups to progress to the semi-finals on the afternoon of June 1.

Three companies will make it to the PITCH final on RISE Centre Stage on June 2 to present before a distinguished panel of judges and thousands of watching attendees in the hope of claiming the title of RISE’s best startup.

Startups will have seven minutes in each round to impress the judges: four minutes for their pitch followed by a three-minute Q&A with the judging panel.

Last year at RISE, we saw the final judging panel of Jing Ulrich, Sonny Vu, Ricky Kapur and Kevin Prior name Ambi Climate as the PITCH Winner. Check out this interview with the winners after last year’s final.

This year’s winner will join the winners from PITCH Collision and SURGE on Centre Stage at Web Summit, the biggest and most influential startup and tech event in the world. Winners will get the following:

  • Flights and hotels for up to three of the team to go to Web Summit in Lisbon
  • START status
  • Entry to f.ounders
  • An interview on Centre Stage by Paddy in an “international stars of the future” slot
  • Entry to Web Summit PITCH

Applications will close this Friday, May 6, with the shortlist of companies selected being announced on May 11 on the Collision Blog.

Think your startup has the potential to disrupt? Apply to PITCH.
